MF GALLERY HALLOWEEN SHOW

Will be part of the MF's Halloween show again this year - it's always fun. Hopefully I'll make it to the opening this time - I've missed the past few there. Although our closing may fall that weekend, but we'll see.

CALAVERAS

Started my piece for the Yves Laroche Gallery Calaveras group show opening October 31st. It's coming out nice I think - it's a little different then some of the other stuff I've been doing in the fact that it's more portraiture in it's approach. It will be called
Esmeralda y el bebe de muerte

It's funny - coming off this show at Corey Helford Gallery I'm feeling a bit mellencholy. I wanted to keep the momentum going and I have booked a couple of group shows but I suddenly feel so empty. I guess it's just that it's summertime and things have calmed down, at least here in NYC.

I needed a jumpstart so on a friend's recommended I picked up this book by Cay Lang - I thought it might be good to regroup with. It's basically an artworld handbook on getting out there and focusing your career. Not sure why I'm reading really it's pretty much general information alot of which is common sense it seems. I'm halfway through the book so far....it's okay - some good step by step info on getting a packet together and promoting your work.

WE BOUGHT A VICTORIAN HOUSE IN BUFFALO

So we bought a house in Buffalo today and I'm freaking out now. My wife is from Buffalo, New York and has been wanting to move back there and take a break from NYC. The home has been lovingly restored by a very eccentric man and the price in comparison to the city is amazingly dirt cheap, however I'm still a bit freaked that I will be cash poor for awhile.
